This was released by MCA in the same month as ‘Thriller’ despite conditions by Epic Records that it should not be released until after Michael’s solo album. As a result, Epic took legal action against MCA which forced the album’s withdrawal, making it a collectors item. The album reached number 37 on the Billboard 200 and number 82 on the UK Albums Chart and won Michael a Grammy Award for Best Recording for Children.
