‘Beat It’ 4K Added To YouTube

The most popular video streaming service in the world now has “Beat It” in 4K resolution for the first time ever!!

The YouTube video has set fans on a whirlwind ride over the last few days. First the thumbnails updated, but then iTunes/Apple Music got the videos first. Then the YouTube video thumbnail reverted and a 1080p version got uploaded. A lot of confusion ensued, but the 4K video has now landed, 4 days ahead of the release of “Thriller 40.”

“Beat It” was first uploaded to the site in basic 480p 11 years ago. In that time it’s amassed 879M views. It will be interesting to watch that number increase at a faster rate now that the 4K version is here, making it Michael Jackson’s first 4K music video to hit the streaming service.

We’re sure that “Thriller” will be next around the corner, hopefully with “Billie Jean” by the end of this week.
